Providing Goods, Services, and Employment Opportunities to People with Disabilities

Purpose
Equipment Corps Inc. is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration, equal opportunity, and accessibility for persons with disabilities. Equipment Corps Inc. is committed to meeting the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Scope
This policy applies to all employees, managers, supervisors, contractors, volunteers, customers, visitors, and any other individuals acting on behalf of Equipment Corps Inc. This policy applies to all goods, services, facilities, communications, employment practices, and customer interactions provided by Equipment Corps Inc.
Our Commitment

Communication
Equipment Corps Inc. will communicate with persons with disabilities in ways that take their disabilities into account. Employees will be trained to effectively interact and communicate with individuals with various types of disabilities and to provide information in accessible formats when requested.
Assistive Devices
Persons with disabilities may use their personal assistive devices when accessing Equipment Corps Inc.’s goods, services, or facilities. Where assistive devices are available at Equipment Corps Inc. locations, employees will be trained on their use and availability.
Service Animals
Equipment Corps Inc. welcomes persons with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal. Service animals are permitted in all areas open to the public unless otherwise prohibited by law. Where a service animal cannot enter a particular area, reasonable alternative arrangements will be made to ensure access to services.
Support Persons
A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be permitted to access Equipment Corps Inc.’s premises together with their support person. Employees shall not prevent a person with a disability from having access to their support person while receiving services.
Notice Of Temporary Disruption
In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to facilities or services used by persons with disabilities, Equipment Corps Inc. will provide notice as soon as reasonably possible.
The notice will include:
- The reason for the disruption.
- The anticipated duration.
- Alternative facilities or services available, if applicable.
Notices may be provided through signage, email, telephone, website postings, or other appropriate communication methods.
Training
Equipment Corps Inc. will provide accessibility training to:
- All employees and volunteers.
- Individuals involved in developing company policies.
- Persons who provide goods, services, or facilities on behalf of Equipment Corps Inc.
Training will include:
- The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
- The Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR).
- The Ontario Human Rights Code as it relates to persons with disabilities.
- The duty to accommodate persons with disabilities.
- How to interact and communicate with people with various disabilities.
- How to interact with individuals who use assistive devices, service animals, or support persons.
- Equipment Corps Inc.’s accessibility policies and procedures.
- What to do when a person with a disability experiences difficulty accessing goods, services, facilities, or employment opportunities.
Training will be provided as soon as practicable after hiring and whenever policies or legislative requirements change. Training records will be maintained by Equipment Corps Inc.
Employment
Equipment Corps Inc. is committed to fair and accessible employment practices. Accommodation will be provided throughout the recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, career development, return-to-work, and employment relationship processes, in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and AODA requirements.

Accessible Formats and Communication Supports
Upon request, Equipment Corps Inc. will provide information in accessible formats and communication supports in a timely manner and at a cost no greater than the regular cost charged to others.
Modifications To This Policy
Equipment Corps Inc. will ensure that any policies, practices, or procedures affecting accessibility respect the principles of dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity. Any policy found to conflict with these principles will be reviewed and modified as appropriate.
